Assumption of the Virgen

For years, Mallorca celebrates this festivity in a very special way. The churches of the Palma and the villages of Mallorca open so that the visitors can see pictures of resting virgens, a liturgical expression that has also become an artistic and popular manifestation. The Consell de Mallorca edits a program that includes the churches whre you can visit the beds of the virgins that are asleep.

Palma de Mallorca, Alaró, Algaida, S'Arracó (Andratx), Alcúdia, Artà, Binissalem, Búger, Calvià, Campanet, Campos, Consell, Costitx, Deià, Esporles, Felanitx, Fornalutx, Inca, Lloret de Vistalegre, Llubí, Manacor, Maria de la Salut, Montuïri, Muro, Petra, Pina, Sa Pobla, Pollença, Porreres, Puigpunyent, Sant Joan, Santa Maria del Camí, Santanyí, Selva, Sencelles, Sineu, Sóller, Son Servera and Valldemossa.
