It is the first exhibition of Amparo Sard (Mallorca, 1973) in Gallery Pelaires , after a 2015 in which the artist has shown her works in places like Rome (where she received the Gold Medal of the Italian Government), London, New York, Tenerife or Gijon, among others.
In zoology, the term autotomy is the ability of certain animals to discard a part of their body to ward off the danger. Some of these animals never get to regenerate the lost parts. Sard brings this concept to the inner struggle she maintains regarding her work, the passage of time and the spectator (who acts as a predator).
The artist divides herself into two parts, she serves as food to the enemy (for the fact of exposing) but also manages to escape.
