The Kiev Ballet returns to the Palma Auditorium with this classic piece from its repertoire in its original version. Swan Lake is the first of the three ballets composed by Piotr Llich Tchaikovsky (1840-1893) and has become the most performed work in the entire history of dance.
It was performed for the first time in 1877 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow with a choreography by Julius Reisinger, although it was not well received. It was with the work of the choreographers Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov, in 1895, that the work achieved success. Petipa was in charge of the first and third acts; Ivanov of the second and fourth.
One of the most symbolic moments of this ballet are the melancholic and mysterious notes of the oboe announcing the presence of the swan-princess in the lake.
