It is the first national ballet company in the country, founded in January 2014 by the Ministry of Social Development of the Nation, under the President of Argentina, after a selection process conducted between September and December 2013. From a total 1,200 applicants, the jury chose sixty dancers that make up the body of this National Ballet directed by Iñaki Urlezaga.
The program consists of Chopiniana, with choreography by M. Fokin and music of Frédéric Chopin; Corsaire (Pas d'esclave of Part One), choreography by Marius Petipa and music by Oldenburg; The Dying Swan, Michael Fokine choreography and music of Camille Saint Saens; Moonlight (two step), choreography by Giuseppe della Monica and music of Claude Debussy; and Birthday Offiering, choreography by Frederick Ashton and musical arrangements by John Irvin.
