Bernat Quetglas conducts the Mallorca Chamber Orchestra in this concert at the Porreres Municipal Auditorium with a program devoted entirely to Symphony No. 3 Op. 55 in E flat 'Eroica', by Ludwig van Beethoven.
It is one of the best symphonies written in the history of music and probably the most important on an aesthetic and historical level to symbolize the transition from classicism to romanticism.
Initially it was dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte, but the composer erased the dedication when he found out that the soldier and statesman had named himself emperor.
