Jazz saxophonist and composer Berta Moreno has become one of the leading voices of her generation. She closes the Jazz Palma 2023 Festival with her latest musical project, Tumaini, which in Swahili means hope.
This Madrid native, who has lived in New York for years, has received numerous prizes and awards; with her first album, Little Steps, she won a Gold Medal from the Global Music Awards for Best Jazz Album of 2017 and received a nomination at the Independent Music Awards (United States) and at the Premis MIN (Spain).
Her proposal is innovative, original and daring, fusing modern language, Latin, soul and the rhythms and harmonies of African music, creating her own multidimensional language.
The Jazz Palma Festival is organized by the Palma City Council and is held from February 10 to 19, 2023 at the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza. This fourth edition programs seven concerts with international artists and groups, as well as a series of complementary activities related to the world of jazz.
