'Between two centuries'

This fifth concert of the 2012-2013 season of the Foundation Studium Aureum is a view at the aesthetic transition that occurred at the end of Romanticism. The chromaticism and the constant movement of the sound discourse, under the influence of the Wagnerian legacy, had special echo in Austria and Germany.

The program consists of Deir Einsiedler Op.11 by Max Reger (1873-1916); Zwei chorstücke, by Alexander Zemlinsky (1872-1942) and Der Holdestein, of Franz Schrenker (1878-1934).
