The Big Band of the Conservatori Superior de les Illes Balears (CSIB) offers this exciting concert with the collaboration of saxophonist, composer and arranger Bernard van Rossum, who acts as director and presents a repertoire inspired by flamenco.
Van Rossum, of a Dutch father and an English mother, was born and raised in Spain. He currently resides in Amsterdam, where he is very active on the jazz scene and teaches at the Amsterdam and Rotterdam conservatories.
He leads the BvR Flamenco Big Band, with which he won the Meerjazz International Jazz Competition in 2014, as well as the Bernard van Rossumm Quartet.
The Jazz Palma Festival is organized by the Palma City Council and is held from February 10 to 19, 2023 at the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza. This fourth edition programs seven concerts with international artists and groups, as well as a series of complementary activities related to the world of jazz.
