The last concert of the 26è Mallorca Jazz sa Pobla is also a memory for one of the most beloved blues musicians on the island, the Majorcan bassist and producer Toni Reynés (1959-2020).
After founding the legendary Harmònica Coixa Blues Band with Victor Uris and Pep Banyo, in 2015 Reynés was one of the creators of the Blues Beer Band, a formation with a personal and genuine sound in the purest style of Chicago bands of the years. 50 and 60 of the last century.
With a traditional and forceful staging, the band transports us to the atmospheres of black music clubs, with touches of funk and R '&' R.
At Mallorca Jazz sa Pobla they present their album Ca n'Estrella sessions (Blau, 2020), recorded in the studios of Toni Reynés with R&B and blues songs.
Currently, the Blues Beer Band is made up of Agustí Serra (guitar), Toño Marquez (drums), Miquel Gomila (harmonica and voice), Juan Amaro (bass) and Emili Gené (piano). Replacing Toni Reynés will be Juan Amaro (from the Bigyuyu Senyorblues group).
Half of the proceeds from the tickets will go to the Associació Pa i Mel to help with the purchase of food. Tickets can only be purchased online.
