Es Baluard joins the celebration of the World Book Day 2013 with various activities. On the one hand, the museum re-joins the network of museums led by the Library of Artium (Vitoria), which will conduct the campaign the release of books (Bookcrossing). A total of 56 museums and art centers throughout Spain will release 3000 books, fifty of them Es Baluard. The activity can be followed live on Twitter via the hashtag # BKEsBaluard.
In the afternoon there will be a collective reading of the book L'illa de la calma (The island of calm), by Santiago Rusinol. With this act, Es Baluard honors this set of chronicles written by the artist in 1913, now a century ago. The reading will take place in front of the painting Bunyola (painted by Rusinol between 1908 and 1909), exhibited in the hall Mallorca y la interpretación del paisaje (Mallorca and landscape interpretation).
Also during this day there will be a 10% discount on museum store items and a point of sale of catalogs and products of Es Baluard opposite the shopping center El Corte Ingles on Carrer Jaume III.
