The Valencian singer-songwriter, guitarist and composer Carles Dènia presents his show El paradís de les paraules at Ses Voltes, within the framework of the Cançons de la Mediterrània 2022 festival.
Musician with great international recognition, Carles Dènia (Gandia, 1971) began his musical career in local rock and blues groups. He studied jazz guitar at the Koninklijk Conservatorium Den Haag (Holland), where he later became a teacher.
At the same time that he works as a jazz guitarist, he develops in parallel his career as a flamenco singer and Valencian-style singer, forming part of several companies and projects as interesting as the opera Món de guerres, of which he is co-author.
In El paradís de les paraules he puts voice and music to the exquisite verses of the Andalusian poets who lived in the current Valencian territories, adapted from Arabic to Valencian by Josep Piera. This project by Carles Dènia has been awarded the Ovidi Awards for Best Record and Best Arrangements, and the Best Folk Record Award by Sons de la Mediterrània magazine, as well as being considered by Enderrock magazine as one of the best albums of the decade.
