Catherine Russell

Catherine Russell is one of the most acclaimed voices by specialized critics. Her father was the musical director of Louis Armstrong and her mother collaborated with the great Mary Lou Williams, so she belongs to the most genuine lineage of blues and jazz. She reaches the 25th edition of the Mallorca Jazz Sa Pobla festival with her quintet format.

Catherine Russell has collaborated with figures such as David Bowie and Steely Dann. She won a Grammy for her participation as a guest artist in the soundtrack of the HBO television series Boardwalk Empire. Her repertoire is very wide, it goes from the twenties to the present. Her album Harlem On My Mind (2016) was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best Jazz Vocal Album.

Now she presents her latest album Alone Together (2019), where Catherine Russell's special skills make compositions shine even more, where the lyrical and harmonic structure achieves a deeply personal level.
