In 2022, the great Spanish pianist Chano Domínguez participated in the Jazz Voyeur Festival with Cuban Gonzalo Rubalcaba. In this 17th edition of the festival, he does so in the company of some of the artists who collaborate with him to celebrate his 45-year career.
Chano Domínguez (Cádiz, 1960) began in music at the end of the 70s with the Andalusian rock group Cai. Later he became part of the Hixcadix band and later, alone, he dedicated himself to exploring all the ramifications of contemporary jazz.
Today he is one of the most famous flamenco jazz musicians, a genre, the latter, that he cultivated thanks to the great love of his father. Chano Domínguez, National Prize for Current Music 2020, has achieved an unusual integration between the rhythms and languages of jazz and flamenco. He plays tangos, tanguillos, bulerías or fandangos on the piano respecting the traditional structure of jazz.
The concert will feature the participation of Javier Colina and Guillermo McGill -his historic trio-, Martirio -with Raúl Rodríguez as a guest-, and Mariola Membrives.
