The Sound and Image Archive of the Consell de Mallorca (ASIM) organizes a new cycle in CineCiutat, this time focusing on cinema of fantasy and adventure, with screenings of four films shot in Mallorca between the late fifties and early seventies. The cycle will be held from June 5 to 26 and the films are offered in original version with subtitles in Castilian.
Titles of films and projection days:
June 5: Krakatoa East of Java, a movie released in 1969 and directed by Bernard L. Kowalski, with Maximilian Schell, Diane Baker, Brian Keith, Sal Mineo, Rossano Brazzi and JD Cannon in the main roles.
Following the screening will be offered the short film Krakatoa, made by amateur filmmaker team from Soller Wilma which collects scenes from Krakatoa East of Java in 1967 in the port of Sóller.
June 12: The 7th Voyage of Sinbad, directed in 1958 by Nathan Juran and starring Kerwin Mathews, Kathryn Grant, Torin Thatcher and Richard Eyer.
June 19: The Magus, directed by Guy Green in 1968 that features a star cast: Michael Caine, Anthony Quinn and Candice Bergen.
June 26: The Golden Voyage of Sinbad, a 1973 production directed by Gordon Hessler and with soundtrack of Hungarian composer Miklos Rozsa.
