Francisco Mateu i Nicolau (1847-1913), with stage name Uetam, was a Mallorcan opera singer in the bass register that conquered success not only in the main Spanish theaters, but also in the Opera of St. Petersburg, Teatro San Carlos of Lisbon and many other European cities.
He debuted in 1869 at the Teatre Principal in Palma de Mallorca with the opera Linda de Chamonix by Gaetano Donizetti. On this same stage takes place a memorial concert marking the first anniversary of the death of Uetam, involving Felix Bou on and pianist David Mohedano.
