Course on Literature and War

The Literature Cycle of the 52nd edition of the Festival de Pollença revolves around war and the art of writing. The course, held in collaboration with the Universitat de les Illes Balears, is directed by Malcolm Otero Barral and summons the leading figures of essay and fiction like Jon Lee Anderson, historian Paul Preston or writer Eduardo Mendoza, who already participated in this cycle last year.

From 16:00 to 18:00 h.: Politics in the novel by Giancarlo De Cataldo and Mariana Salinas.

August 7:
From 10:00 to 12:00 h.: The best novel about our war, by Jordi Cràcia and Paul Preston.
From 16:00 to 18:00 h.: The Mafia. Hidden Wars in literature, by Clara Uson and Miguel Aguilar.

August 8:
From 10:00 to 12:00 h.: The Balkans and fiction, by Paula Cifuentes and Jordi Soler.
From 16:00 to 18:00 h.: The small conflict and fiction, by Marcos Giralt Torrente and Malcolm Otero Barral.

August 9:
From 10:00 to 12:00 h.: How to write a novel about the Civil War, by Eduardo Mendoza and Jose Carlos Llop.
