Cycle dedicated to Fortunio Bonanova

CineCiutat and the Archive of Sound and Image from Mallorca dedicate this film series to the enigmatic Mallorcan artist Fortunio Bonanova, who was baritone, film and theater actor, producer and director.

His real name was José Luis Moll (1895-1969) and he left Mallorca in the twenties to persue a career riddled with successes. In Hollywood he triumphed in the forties and worked alongside stars such as Gloria Swanson, Anne Baxter and Orson Welles.

The cycle programs four films and will be presented on the first day by Professor Catalina Aguiló.

November 6: Five Graves to Cairo. Billy Wilder, 1943. Original Version in English with Spanish subtitles.
November 13: Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves. Arthur Lubin, 1944. Original Version in English with Spanish subtitles.
November 20: Pepita Jiménez. Emilio Fernández, 1946. original version in Spanish.
November 27: La diosa arrodillada. Roberto Gavaldón, 1947. Original Version in Spanish.
