This project of Vincenç Ochoa and Xim Jurado is the result of years of artistic complicity in numerous trips to Cuba, which were joined by the critical-poetic voices and texts of Marcos A. Diaz Sosa, Carlos Jover and Yulissa Rodríguez.
D-ISLA A-ISLA/DOSMIRaDAS has been exhibited in Havana in May 2013 in the framework of the XXV edition of the Festival 'The Footprint of Spain' at the Exhibition Hall Can Fondo of Alcúdia (July 2013) and is now presented in the courtyard of Casal Solleric as a final of the trip.
The selection for this last exhibition was organized by the artists themselves among the thousands of snapshots captured at different locations of the island of Cuba: from Old Havana and its peripheral enclaves to landmark neighborhoods of the Cuban geography like Colón Cemetery, the Gran Teatro de La Habana, Teatro Trianon or the Casa Balear of Havana.
