Her last performance in Mallorca was five years ago in the Castell de Bellver. Now American singer-songwriter Dayna Kurtz returns to the same stage as a guest of the Women Do not Wait concert cycle, forming a duet with guitarist and mandolinist Robert Maché.
Dayna Kurtz was nominated female composer of the year 1997 by the National Academy of Composers. Her style is a fusion of jazz, folk, pop and blues, reminiscent of other powerful female voices like Nina Simone, Norah Jones or Annie Lenox.
She has toured with Elvis Costello, Richard Thompson, Mavis Staples, B.B. King, Richie Havens, Rufus Wainwright, Keren Ann and The Blind Boys of Alabama.
