The Canadian artist Devon Sproule - born in 1983 in the hippie commune Dandelion in Kingston, Ontario-opens the new series devoted to women Women do not wait, created by Tomeu Gomila after the disappearance of the festival Waiting for Waits.
Sproule released her first album, Devon, with only 16 years. Her third album, Upstate Songs (2003), was chosen by critics of Rolling Stone as the best album of the year. Her latest album is Colours (2013) together with fellow Canadian Mike O'Neill.
Devon Sproule, married to singer-songwriter Paul Curreri (Seattle, 1976), cultivates a style in which can be found elements of indie music, folk, country and jazz.
In her concert at the Teatre Xesc Forteza of Palma (only performance in Spain) will be perform accompanied by bassist Joe Carvell. As opening act Zelisko Band, a Mallorcan group that blends rock, folk, blues and African rhythms.
