After three years of voluntary retirement, this veteran group of Catalan music returns to the stage to present their new work entitled L’àrea petita, the riskiest record of the ones they released to date. It involves a willingness to turn the page and look ahead.
Aided by the production of Raúl Fernández, Els Pets have developed a bright and artisanal album, in which the melodies and lyrics of the songs take the lead. The band is one of the few survivors of the so-called Catalan rock born in the 90s, after the disappearance of Sopa de Cabra or Sau, among others.
The group is still led by Lluís Gavaldà, singer, guitarist and principal songwriter, alongside Joan Reig (drums) and Falin Cáceres (bass).
