The Convent of Saint Augustine of Felanitx hosts the premiere in Spain of this work by British composer Howard Goodall (1958). First introduced in 2008, Eternal Light: A Requiem won first prize at the Classical BRIT Award for Composer of the Year.
Featuring the Cor Cantus Firmus -SC La Violeta, directed by Gabriel Miralles, Cor Ciutat de Palma, directed by Joan Lainez, and Jove Orchestra Illes Balears, directed by Joan Barceló.
Through 10 movements, Goodall gathers in his Requiem the classical Latin texts (typical for this kind of works) with poems by English writers of the past 500 years. After the premiere in Felanitx, on April 11 it can be heard in the crypt of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona.
