Fira del Pebre Bord

Each year Felanitx turns red to celebrate its already centennial Pebre Bord Fira (Trade Fair of the paprika). During the week many activities are being celebrated, some very traditional.

On Friday 17 will take place la buñolada de las virgines, inaugurated will be the sculpture tribute to Guillem Timoner (famous cyclist born in Felanitx in 1926),  work of Colom Tòfol installed on the roundabout at the entrance to Felanitx, the exhibition  Viu els parenòstics  and two samples of painting. In addition, from 20:00 pm on Friday and Saturday  the tour of tapas and pinchos will be held.

Sunday the 19th is the day of the fair and the streets and squares are filled with samples, demonstrations and workshops from 9 in the morning. The offer is very extensive and varied: demonstrations of how to fill the belly of pork with slaughter products such as sobrassada (which acquires its characteristic red color due to paprika), displays of antique cars and motorcycles exhibition of bonsái, displays of old tools, demonstration of Mallorcan embroidery and arrangement of flower pots, display of bird of prey , ornithological exhibition and a workshop of glycerin soap.

There will also be activities for children, such as children workshop on facial makeup  and printing of T-shirts or the funny adventures of Els pirates desventurers.

Music and folklore are other components of the day. This day is celebrated the Folk sample (with prior parades) and there will be batucada, the concert of  Marino E Marini and the finishing touch will be put by the XI Ballada del Pebre Bord, three hours of continuous dance to the music of the groups Sa Revetla de Sant Antoni and Abeniara.
