The work of James Lambourne (1956), English by birth but resident in Mallorca since age five, is closely connected with nature and the Mediterranean hermetic traditions.
Besides using traditional techniques and media such as painting, sculpture , printmaking and drawing, often James Lambourne uses elements directly taken from the wild for installations and ephemeral interventions in which art and nature merge. Therefore, some of his works are included within the current Land Art, but his curiosity and artistic career go beyond this nomination.
This exhibition, which can be seen on the main floor of the Casal Solleric and is curated by Ana Torán and Pilar Ribal presents some of the artist's works made in collaboration with the Dutch photographer René Gonkel . They are works on the border between painting and photography, portraits of ephemeral installations done in his long walks in the company of the photographer, which are later manipulated to create unique objects.
