Freedonia in concert

Swing, jazz, funk and, above all, soul are the styles performed by this band of ten musicians created in 2006. They have a compact rhythmic base and powerful metals, to which must be added the nuanced voice of Aurora Garcia.

They have investigated the various currents of soul, interspersing own songs with classics of the genre like Etta James, Marvin Gaye, Jackie Wilson, Edwin Starr or Barbara Acklin. After a lengthy tour around concert halls and festivals, in 2012 the group entered the studio to record their first album, mastered in Germany by Kai Blankenberg.

The album, which was released last September under the title of Freedonia, was released under license as Creative Commons, includes the theme Upside Down, tribute to Fela Kuti.
