Gala 50th anniversary

Charity gala commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Auditòrium de Palma organized by the ten Rotary Clubs of Mallorca. The benefits will go to the NGO's Mallorca Sense Fam and Fundació Monti-Sion Solidaria.

With the participation of: la Banda Municipal de Música de Palma, Coral Universitat de les Illes Balears, Orfeó Universitat de les Illes Balears, Jove Orquestra de les Illes Balears, Cor Ciutat de Mallorca, Blauets de Lluc, Cap Pela,  Jove Orquestra Rotaria de Mallorca, Irene Gili (soprano) y Antoni Mairata March (composer).

The Municipal Music Band of Palma, the UIB's Choir and Orfeó of the UIB will premiere the Mallorca Overture, a work composed by Antoni Mairata especially for the occasion.

La Jove Orquestra, Cor de Mallorca and Orfeó, together with Irene Gil, will perform la Simfonia Serra de Tramuntana, also by this young composer.

During the gala, two documentaries will be screened: Llums de Tramuntana, by Marco Molina, and a documentary on the evolution of the construction of the Auditòrium, from the site in 1966 until its inauguration in 1969 by the Berlin Philharmonic and Herbert von Karajan.
