This group of jazz is one of the first stable in Mallorca. In the style of the American swing orchestras of the 30s, it consists of five saxophones, four trombones, 4 trumpets, rhythm section (bass, piano, guitar and drums) and singer.
Their repertoire is mainly based on swing, but also encompasses other styles in jazz such as bossa nova. The Progression album (2018. Temps Record) is dedicated to the music of Salvador Font 'Mantequilla' and has the direction and arrangements of Toni Vaquer. It is a hundred percent Mallorcan production that has triumphed in the tour they have made this spring through Egypt.
Cecilia Gimenez (voice), Fran Català and Cristian Sorribas (alto saxos), Carles Medina and Pau Vidal (tenor saxes), Miquel Àngel Rigo (baritone saxophone), Miquel Amengual, Tomeu Garcies and Joan Amengual (trombones), Miquel Gayà (trombone bass), Pep Garau, Julián Abad, Jaume Blázquez and Guillem Nadal (trumpets), Joan Garcias (double bass), Salvador Font (drums), Guillem Fullana (guitar), Jaume Riera (piano). Toni Vaquer (director).
The concert is held within the program of the 25è Mallorca jazz Sa Pobla.
