This artist who was born in Arta (1984) retains some aesthetic interest in the world of science and nature, the result of his years of study in this field.
For Herbaris, his first solo exhibition, he has created a series of unique works designed for CCA Espai, which is divided into three zones. One for observation, one for study and in the last one, he exhibits the end result.
He presents drawings of small and large format, photographs and installations. The thematic focus is on the forests of Mallorca before and after being affected by the fires of 2011. He uses natural materials such as coal, soil or plants.
Specializing in engraving and printing techniques, Laia Ventayol has won in 2012 the Archie Guittes Grant awarded by the Círculo de Bellas Artes de Palma, for her research project at the Akademie Bildende Künste Nuremberg and her work with the German artist Heike Baranowsky.
