'I hate the kids', by Guillermo Rubí

The first solo exhibition of this artist from Palma in the Contemporary Cultural Center Pelaires , part of the Nit de l'Art (Art Night) gathers a number of recent works , in which, as is becoming usual in his art, he combines different techniques, this time synthetic enamel and acrylic paint on canvas or aluminum.

The title of the exhibition pays tribute to a song by American post-hardcore band Hot Snakes. It is up to the observer to reveal the relationship between the work of Guillermo Rubí and the musical subculture.

The artist works from the modification and / or distortion of images (photographs or screenshots taken from various films) to which he superimposes a grid or lattice, trapping the image at the bottom of the canvas, so that the spectator can explore his work from what he sees and not for what it represents.
