The Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art Es Baluard has invited the writer Agustín Fernández Mallo to participate in its program Carte blanche. The result is this exhibition in which we find a new lecture of the museum collection and where Fernández Mallo reflects on the problem of duplication of today.
Implosió (cel·lular) is based on three pillars: a lost frame from a silent movie from the early twentieth century, The Secret of Pedriza; gussets of dialogues of the film, which give an alternative explanation of the movements of art from the nineteenth century to the present; and the history of art as mimesis of cell duplication.
