International Museum Day

Museums (memory + creativity) = social progress is the motto with which the international museum community celebrates the International Museum Day. With this they aim to vindicate the function these spaces develop as a historical, artistic and cultural conservative of the communities.

In Mallorca to this commemoration are joined more than 26 museums and exhibition centers, along with open houses or programming parallel activities such as workshops, tours, meetings with artists, among others.

In Palma are involved: Es Baluard, CaixaForum, Casal Solleric, Palacio de la Almudaina, Museu Fundació Juan March, Bellver Castle, Museu de Mallorca, Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró, Diocesan Museum, Centre Cultural La Misericordia and the Military History Museum of San Carlos.

From the rest of Mallorca: Museu de Pollensa, Museu Sa Bassa Blanca, Fundación Yannick and Ben Jakober (Alcúdia), Can Prunera (Sóller), Can Planes (Sa Pobla), Regional Museum of Arta, Museu d'Historia de Manacor, Casa Museu Llorenç Villalonga (Binissalem), Archivo y Museo de la Educación de las Islas Baleares (Inca), Centre of Contemporary Poetry Blai Bonet (Santanyi), Casa Museu Dionís Bennàssar (Pollensa), Archaeological Museum of Son Fornes (Montuïri), Fundació Coll Bardolet (Valldemossa) and Casa Museu Pare Ginard (Sant Joan).
