Native of Campo Grande (Brazil), Jayme Marques is a guitarist, singer, arranger and composer known for introducing the bossa nova and samba jazz in Europe.
Invited by Els Valldemossa to visit Mallorca, he was so taken by the island that he settled here for eight years, in which he was the director of the musical magazine of the salas de fiestas Tagomago, he participated, along with Augusto Algueró, in the direction of the Musical Mallorca, and created the Balear Big Band.
In 1975 he was claimed by the presenter José María Iñigo to join the popular television program Directísimo. He is also known as the composer of soundtracks as popular as the Series Un país en la mochila (A country in the backpack), directed by Antonio Labordeta.
