The XX Festival AlcúdiaJazz 2020 closes its programming with an itinerant urban street jazz show by Monkey Doo, a skiffle band formed by Néstor Casas (trumpet and voice), Sergio Tecglen (ukulele), Dídac Buscatc (Washtub bass, helicon , trombone) and Joan Llabrés (washboard, percussion).
Skiffle is New Orleans urban jazz. In the 1950s it exploded as an autonomous genre in Great Britain; in fact, groups like The Rolling Stone, The Beatles or Led Zeppelin began as skiffle interpreters. In this genre, which combines early jazz with blues, rumba and jazz, rare instruments are incorporated, such as washboards or thimbles.
This concert was scheduled for September 25, but due to weather conditions it was postponed to October 9.
