The American artist Jennifer West is known for manipulating her films with unusual materials, such as coal tar dye, mascara, eyeliner, whiskey, deodorant and even skateboard wheels.
In Casal Solleric she presents the film One Mile film (2012), with footage shot by her team on locations in New York not accessible to the general public and two performances of artists Thomas Dolan and Vertical Jimenez. This work was commissioned by Friends of the High Line and the department of parks and recreation areas in New York.
In addition to the screening, Jennifer West will create live her new performance, Spiral of Time # 4/Tessera Floor / Conversation and Beer. She will invite the public to use the cans and ends of the beer that is served during the event to scratch on the film and draw, write or mark up, producing psychedelic designs that serve as memory of the event.
The artist also participates in the II Festival of Women in Mallorca with the ehibition Ivory Show and Shark's Tooth, which can be seen from March 22 to April 15 in the space Mallorca Landings in Palma.
