This is the biography of British musician Joe Strummer (Ankara, 1952, Somerset, 2002), leader of the legendary band The Clash (1976-1986). It features conversations, interviews and unreleased live performances and recovers the original recordings of his radio program London Calling, broadcast by the BBC World Service.
After the breakup of The Clash, Joe Strummer (whose real name was John Graham Mellor) created another band in the late nineties, The Mescaleros, with whom he played until the end of his days.
Shortly before his death, he had composed the song 46664 along with Bono, in favor of the campaign against AIDS in Africa initiated by Nelson Mandela.
