Self-taught, Josep Bover Bennàssar (Palma, Felanitx 1921- 1996) was an artist with great mastery of painting and drawing, especially in pencil on paper. In this bracket he analyzed issues related to seduction and desire, maternity or prostitution.
He also made numerous self-portraits with various techniques and also female nudes, market scenes, streets with people and religious works, among which are The Last Supper and the Ascension.
A great admirer of Rembrandt, Josep Bover was also devoted to oil painting on canvas, as shown in this exhibition that Modernist Museum Can Prunera now dedicates to him.
