His tenor has become the hallmark of Kirk Whalum. In Memphis, Tennessee, he lwft himself impregnate with the roots of gospel and Houston was discovered by jazz pianist Bob James, who accompanied him on a successful tour. He is now touring Europe with his latest work The Gospel According to Jazz ( 2015), stopping on the island within the Mallorca Smooth Jazz Festival.
