Documentary around the figure of Archduke Luis Salvador, written and directed by Sílvia Ventayol. Produced by Mosaic, IB3 and the city Council of Valldemossa, L'Arxiduc i la pagesa (The Archduke and peasant) with the participation of writers Carme Riera and José Carlos Llop, biologists Antoni Martínez Taberner and Nicolau Canyelles, the fisherman Sebastià Juan, the geographer Ivan Murray, historians Mateu Colom, José Luis Neila and Maria Bastitz and, among others, relatives of Catalina Homar.
The documentary tells the story of an Austrian archduke from the Austrian court who came to Mallorca in 1867. From here he establishes a relationship with the island where all his passions come into play: natural sciences, admiration for the scenery and the Orientalism of the southern Mediterranean.
At the same time, he is captivated by a woman and, like all love stories, this one too will come to end. But the fate of both was very different: he continued to live as he had done before, in complete freedom; She, however, had to endure the wrath of her environment for daring to believe that she was free.
