'Laika'

Since its premiere, this Xirriquiteula Teatre family show has won prestigious awards such as the most recent, the Max 2021 Award for Best Show for children and young people or for family audiences. It is one of the proposals of the 26th Teresetes International Theater Festival of Mallorca.

We are in Moscow in 1957, in the middle of the cold war and in the middle of the space race, and Laika is a dog that survives on the streets of a freezing city. Little does she imagine that her destiny will take her into space inside a ship called Spútnik II and that she will go down in the canons of history as the first living being to orbit the earth.

For this show, Xirriquiteula Teatre uses various techniques, such as rear projections, collage, puppets, self-driving, and gesture. Languages: without text, voice-over in Catalan. Recommended age from 5 years.
