'Les Miserables'

It is one of the most watched musicals of all time - 65 million viewers worldwide , and holds the record for staying on the billboard of London, where it has been represented every night since it opened on October 8, 1985 at the Queens Theatre. Not to mention the over a hundred international awards harvested and its successful movie adaptation, which won three Oscars in the edition of 2013.

The musical Les Miserables  is based on the novel by Victor Hugo , music by Alain Boublil and Claude - Michel Schönberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer . The action takes place in nineteenth -century France and tells a touching story of broken dreams, unrequited love, passion, sacrifice and redemption.

In 2010, to celebrate the 25th anniversary of its release, Cameron Mackintosh created this new production with a renewed staging that includes paintings of Victor Hugo himself projected during the show, an idea of choreographer Matt Kinley which gives greater poetic depth to the story and its development. At that time it could only be seen in Spain in theaters in Madrid and Barcelona, but in November 2013 it began an international tour which stops now in Mallorca.
