The plot of  Les tesmoforiants  takes place during the festivities of  lasThesmoforias in honor of the goddesses Demeter and Persephone, exclusive for women. They take advantage of the meeting to discuss the punishment Euripides has to receive, because he insults and outrages them in his tragedies.
