Belgian pianist Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort opens the new edition of the Chopin Festival in Valldemossa with this concert dedicated to the music of Robert Schumann and the Polish composer who gives the name to the festival.
From 2002 to 2009, Liebrecht Vanbeckevoort (Mechelen, 1984) was forming with renowned pianists in Brussels, Bloomington, Boston and Munich. He has performed with the most prestigious orchestras and directors and received numerous awards and distinctions, such as the Queen Elisabeth International Music Competition in 2007.
The program consists of Scenes of children, Op. 15, by Robert Schumann (1810-1856); Four works by Frédéric Chopin (1810-1849): Fantasia-Impromptu en su minor, op. 66, Nocturnal, Op. 55 (No. 1 in F minor, No. 2 in E flat major), Fantasy in F minor, Op. 49 and Ballad in F minor, Op. 52, No. 4; And Sonata in si minor, S.178, of Franz Liszt (1811-1886).
