The XXII AlcúdiaJazz Festival receives the acclaimed Menorcan pianist Marco Mezquida, who presents, together with his trio Letter to Milos, a love letter to his son in his first year of life and a sincere testimony of his artistic identity.
Letter to Milos (2022) is the latest work recorded by this original trio, after the publication of Ravel's dreams (2017) and Talismàn (2019), with which they have won the prestigious BMW Welt Jazz Award, held last July in the German city of Munich.
The work has pieces where the musicians return to their evocations of traditional Iberian music, full of musical syncretism (relating the Cuban sound to Brazilian salsa) and paying tribute to free jazz, blues, circus music and groove.
Marco Mezquida (piano), Aleix Tobias (percussion) and Martín Meléndez (cello).
