Maria del Mar Bonet returns to the world of swing and jazz with the Big Band Begues and in a concert directed by Toni Cuenca, which opens the 14th Jazz Voyeur Festival.
With more than 50 years on the stage, Maria del Mar Bonet is one of the great voices of reference of la canción in the world. The Mediterranean has always been the point of reference in her artistic and personal life, the source of her inspiration. She has toured the whole world with her music in her language, Catalan, collaborating with dozens of different artists and styles from all over.
In this concert at the Jazz Voyeur Festival, she is accompanied by American jazz and swing from the Big Band Begues, a cultural association that seeks to encourage knowledge and consumption of music in Begues, in the province of Barcelona. It is made up of a group of prestigious musicians who make up one of the few stable professional big bands in Catalonia.
The musical direction of the concert falls on the figure of the director, composer, producer and double bass player Toni Cuenca. His long career, which he develops both in the world of classical music and jazz, has led him to collaborate and work alongside a multitude of internationally renowned musicians.
