Started in 1306 by King James II, Sineu market is one of the oldest in Majorcan. For centuries it was the principal trading market for the farmers of the island. Today is a great tourist attraction point.
Sale of food, fruit and vegetables, plants, flowers, clothing, footwear, animals, tools, utensils for the house... Held on Wednesdays from 8:00 to 14:00 pm in plaza de Fossar and surroundings.
It is traditional among natives and foreigners take a plate of typical frito Mallorquín at any of the cellars in the village after visiting the market.
In Sineu we recommend visiting: Santa Maria de Sineu Church, Convent de les Germanes de la Caritat, Convent dels Mínims, Creu d'en Rebassa and Creu d'en Pastor, Son Torelló, Can Dameto, Palau dels Reis de Mallorca.
