The second concert of the XIII International Festival of Classical Music Pianino 2023 will be performed by New York pianist and composer Michael Stephen Brown, praised by specialized critics for his intrepid performances and his exceptionally beautiful compositions. The concert is held in the Cell of Frédéric Chopin and George Sand of the Valldemossa Charterhouse, with a Pleyel piano from 1851.
Winner of the Emerging Artist Award from Lincoln Center, Michael Stephen Brown has recently appeared as a soloist with the Seattle Symphony or the National Philharmonic, offering recitals at Carnegie Hall or the Mostly Mozart Festival.
As a composer, his Concerto for Piano and Strings (2020) was jointly commissioned by the Gilmore Piano Festival and the NFM Leopoldinum Orchestra in Poland, and premiered by the Kalamazoo Symphony with Brown as soloist.
