Misery Strings

The red witch. Stories from the swamp  is the title of the latest album of the Majorcan group Misey Strings, published in October 2013 with the label Primeros Pasitos and now presented in Teatre Municipal Terra i Mar de Palma.

The group was created by Tomeu Coll and Miquel Puigserver in 2002 and was more recently joined by Carlos Castro and Jorge Vaquer. Their debut did not come until 2011 with Adventures in Badlands, which already pointed to an experimental folk conjugated to other genres such as punk and rock from Hell.

Among their musical influences are included Captain Beefheart, Sonic Youth, Tom Waits or Harry Smith; among the literary, Americans William S. Burroughs or Oakley Hall. These references make them one of the most unique bands of the Majorcan scene.
