The American John Cage (1912-1992) was a versatile artist who apart from composer and instrumentalist was also philosopher, music theorist, poet, painter and amateur in mycology. Pioneer of alleatory and electronic music, Cage is one of the leading figures of postwar art and one of the most influential composers of contemporary music. (USA).
One of the most prestigious interpreters of his work, the French pianist Jean Pierre Dupuy (1941), opens the XXXVII Encontre International de Compositors organized by the Fundació ACA with this monograph. He interprets Sonatas & Interludes, a collection of twenty pieces for prepared piano written by Cage between 1946 and 1948.
