Broto (Zaragoza, 1949) is one of the artists that most claimed abstraction versus figuration and conceptual art. He dispenses with the largest number of elements creating extraordinarily synthetic compositions in which superimposes a series of gestural abstract signs of great metaphorical and suggestive capacity floating on the surface of each canvas.
His pictures appear in museums and major collections and he has received numerous awards and distinctions among which the Grand Prix du Salon de Montrouge (1988), National Prize of Fine Arts 1995, ARCO Prize of the association of Critics1997 and Premio Aragón Goya de Grabado, among others.
