Born in Tehran (1981), Newsha Tavakolian is one of the most important photographers of the Middle East. He began his career in photojournalism at age 16 and rose to international fame in 2009 when Iranian censorship closed its doors to the international press in an attempt to silence the 'green revolution'.
His incisive view caught the attention of publications including Time, Newsweek, Le Figaro, New York Times, Der Spiegel, and National Geographic, which use it to report the most hostile territories of the east like Iran, Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Yemen.
